Job Title: Sales Supervisor (Part-Time, 12 hours/week with additional overtime) Must be able to work one week day, and one weekend day
We are an independent business that's not just about selling eco friendly and plastic free goods, but also about creating great community. We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Sales Supervisor to join and grow our team.
Not your average sales and retail role, this job will keep you active on your feet as you serve and greet customers, engaged in conversation and busy throughout the shift as you take the lead on all shop floor operations.
We’re looking for candidates with previous experience in a customer facing role able to put great service at the centre of all they do, with a passion for sustainability and a proactive attitude. Collaborating with The Store manager, you'll be leading shifts and creating the best experience for our customers.
As this is a supervisor position we are looking for someone aged 18+
Candidate Qualities
The ideal candidate will be:
- Active, Positive and Enthusiastic: This is a customer facing role so good personal skills is essential as is a positive attitude. This is a job that requires someone to move and act efficiently so a good level of physical health is required
- Can demonstrate good responsibility and time management skills: As you will be leading shifts on your own, you'll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, assisting customer enquiries and opening/closing the business so a good time management and responsible attitude is ESSENTIAL
- Organised and Pro Active: You will need to keep on top of cleaning, product refills and shelf displays as well as stock levels throughout a shift, as well as be responsible for any deliveries arriving on your shift, unloading in an efficient and organised fashion making sure discrepancies are noted and stock is stored well
- A confident team player who thrives working autonomously: You will be required to work solo on many shifts so you will need to confident to handle anything a day can throw at you, whilst also be able to work collaboratively with other staff and with the manager on Store growth and improvements
Key Responsibilities:
- Store Operations: Ensure The Store is clean throughout the day, organised, and operates smoothly, including opening and closing procedures. This will include being a key holder to open and close
- Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer service, handling questions, resolving issues, serving at the check out, and ensuring a 5 star calm and positive shopping experience
- Stock Management: Keep an eye on stock levels, manage product refills, conduct stock checks, and coordinate restocking to ensure shelves are well-maintained
- Problem Resolution: Address any customer concerns or operational issues promptly and effectively, reporting to the manager any issues. You will also need to be confident and observant to manage suspicious or disrespectful behaviour
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to policies, health and safety standards, and any regulatory requirements
- Reporting: Provide regular updates on sales performance, customer feedback, and operational issues to the manager
- Promoting Store Initiatives: Encourage sustainable practices and engage customers in zero-waste initiatives or promotions
- Cash Handling: Oversee cash transactions, handle daily cash registers, and ensure accurate reporting
Hours: 12 hours per week (with additional ad-hoc overtime available) which includes one day in the week and one day at the weekend.
Start Date: immediately
Pay: We have a 3 month probation period at £12 an hr, moving to £13 an hr upon completing probation, with an annual pay review based on performance
